KupaPay — Terms of Use

DRAFT — not reviewed by a lawyer. Do not publish before review. Last updated: 2026-10-16

1. Who we are

KupaPay ("the App", "we") is operated by Sarussilberg, an individual registered in Israel as an exempt dealer (עוסק פטור), registered as a trader for EU purposes. Contact: sarussilberg@gmail.com. Website: https://kupa-pay.vercel.app

2. The service

KupaPay helps groups of friends record shared expenses and calculate who owes whom. KupaPay is a calculation aid only. It does not transfer, hold or collect money, it is not a payment service, and it does not give financial, tax, accounting or legal advice. Any payment between users happens outside the App and is their own responsibility.

Check balances before you pay. Results depend on the data entered. Review the amounts, currencies and splits, and verify the balance with the other group members before transferring money.

3. Account

You must be at least [16] years old to use the App (see the Privacy Policy). You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You can delete your account at any time in the App (Settings → Delete account).

4. Your content and other group members

You keep ownership of the content you enter (expenses, group names, notes). You give us a limited licence to store and process it only to operate the App. When you add expenses or invite people to a group, you may enter information about other people (such as a name and amounts). Enter only what is needed for splitting expenses, and only if you're entitled to share it. Shared group data is visible to all members of that group. If you delete your account, expenses you share with others stay in the group so the balances remain correct, but your name is replaced with an anonymous label.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the App to break the law, harass others, enter other people's sensitive data, impersonate anyone, abuse ads or rewards, interfere with or reverse-engineer the service, or access other people's accounts. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and will tell you why where the law requires it.

6. Ads

The free version shows rewarded ads that you choose to watch in exchange for in-app benefits. See the Privacy Policy for how ads use data.

7. Subscriptions and Trip Pass

  1. KupaPay Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly (₪12.90) or yearly (₪69.90), or the local price shown in the store before purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.
  2. The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
  3. You can manage or cancel anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals, and Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.
  4. If we offer a free trial, any unused part of it ends when you buy a subscription.
  5. Trip Pass (₪19.90) is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks Pro features for every member of one group for 30 days from activation, then ends automatically with no renewal. The yearly plan includes one Trip Pass, which can be used while the subscription is active.
  6. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests are handled by them under their policies. This does not limit any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
  7. We will give advance notice of any price change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
  8. We use RevenueCat to manage purchase status. We never receive your card details.

8. Your cancellation rights

Israel. Under the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981 (חוק הגנת הצרכן) and its regulations on distance sales and continuing transactions [verify the sections and current wording], you may cancel a continuing transaction (a subscription) at any time. Cancellation takes effect according to the law [verify: within 3 business days of notice] and no further charges apply. You can cancel in the store settings or by writing to sarussilberg@gmail.com; we will help you. Distance-sale cancellation rights apply as set out in the law, including any exceptions for digital content [verify].

European Union. You have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital services or content. When you buy Pro or a Trip Pass, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once delivery has begun [verify per service vs. content; for services, proportional payment may apply]. You may request a refund from Apple or Google, and you can always contact us at sarussilberg@gmail.com.

9. Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. You are responsible for checking the results before relying on them.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, profit or money, including payments made between users based on the App's results. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or ₪100 if you paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, intent or gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law (including Israeli and EU consumer law).

11. Changes and termination

We may update these Terms. We will tell you about material changes in advance in the App or by email. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Lod, Israel have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and may bring proceedings in your local courts. EU online dispute platform: [verify — the EU ODR platform was discontinued in 2025; remove or replace].
